RECIPE: GINGERBREAD PEOPLE

Crunchy leaves, fires, foraging and hearty soups on the horizon - warming ginger and spices are the flavours we are craving.
Enjoy these gingerbread biscuits all Autumn long, with a spooky twist like ours for Halloween...

INGREDIENTS

220g plain flour

18g gingerbread spice mix ( you can buy this or create your own)

1tsp of bicarb 

Big pinch of salt

80g butter

1tbs oil

1 egg yolk

95g light brown soft sugar

40g golden syrup

25g treacle

1 orange - use zest and some juice to bring the dough together 


METHOD

Preheat oven to 180

Cream butter and sugar 

Mix wet ingredients into butter and sugar, (oil, egg yolk, syrup, treacle and orange zest and juice.)

Add dry ingredients slowly until well incorporated.

Lightly knead dough to form a ball.

Refrigerate dough for min. 1 hour before rolling to 6mm and cutting into desired shape and bake!
